I can't help with the coil pack, hopefully someone can help though.
What kind of dwell is he running and is his spark set to non-inverted, flashed the firmware with it hooked up? Any idea why it died at all?

Coils were unplugged and battery was disconnected when the MS was hooked up. Battery was reconnected, firmware was flashed, map was downloaded, coils were hooked up, car was started, spark was set non-inverted. I do not know why the coil failed (only one failed, not both), but it seems like it was MS related. The patch harness has something odd going on with it.

That sucks. I was sooo pissed when i fried my coil on the recommendation of many people telling me to use inverted spark because the NB is supposedly different.
Hope it works out for you guys.

Jerry should score a bunch of em and keep em on hand to sell to the idiots that don't follow the instructions when flashing the firmware.

Just for uber clarification, Dan's coil packs were both unplugged before his MS was flashed. Dan did it while Ben & I watched. They were nut plugged back in until after the firmware and base map were loaded.

What he said. I don't think the firmware download software would have allowed anything else
