Default Toyo RR 225/45/15

According to Phil's tire service the RR is going to be hitting the shores this month in the 225/45/15 size.

Should be a great option in between the NT01 and Hoosiers.

Cool. They're a little late. I think they had originally estimated Q4/13. Still in time for this season though. On tighter tracks (Sonoma, BRP) I think they'll be really close to 205 SM6's.

I know you think I'm full of $hit all the time (and with reason I suppose) but honest to god, I have a buddy with an LS swapped NB that is in the market for sub $800 coilovers. His car is a street car only, I had recommended the FM VMAXX's to him a few months ago before the news of the TECNAs ever hit the interwebz.

I actually told him about them this morning and linked him to the TECNA thread on here.

Also, I have a set of standard VMAXX and I'm not especially happy with them either, my car is strictly a street car too and I am looking for comfort.

AND, there are a lot of gehs I work with that have street miatas, most of whom are running around on awful koni yellow set-ups.

Serious as a heart attack

Anyway, just because he has a LS NB doesn't mean that A) He has $20k into his car or B) He has much money for suspension.

And he just had twins, so spending $2k on suspension isn't very high on his list.

Understand now?

used Bilsteins and ebay 7/6kg coilover sleeve conversion.

Thanks for the suggestion. Are those rates good for a v8 swap?

Oh and I lied, he's got an all aluminum LS1 now, the 4.8 iron block LS he originally bought gave up the ghosts

For a daily driver with no budget, close enough. If it's being used on track with R compounds more 900/500. 7/6kg of the ebay springs converts to 448/396 or thereabouts. Only suggested because it'll save him some money and that seems to be the main priority in his build. The right kit for track use on an LSx is our Big Grip Kit ($3300) with billet mounts, 900/500. For daily drivers use (track-autocross), something more like 550/400 with a special sway bar setup, depending on tires.

A lot of folks have run the Bilstein/ebay combo and they work surprisingly well. Ebay coilovers are still under $75 shipped I think. New Bilsteins are about $440 shipped but you can often find good used ones for less than half that.

So the tecnas will work but they're not ideal for that application. Since it appears he has made many hardware choices based on cost and not effectiveness, I suggested the less expensive alternative.

edit: hit submit and realized I'm seriously hijacking the thread. Sorry Tom!

Phils Tire Service shows them in stock now. I assume all the other (AIM, Tire Rack etc) will have them as well.
