Default NASA ST5 section width.226mm

Hello

Looking at the Advanti Storm S1 +35 15x9 with Falken RT660 225/45/15. Would these pass the 226mm section width limit? Any other wheel /tire suggestions meeting max 226mm?

Thanks

In the current ruleset, you should look at other tire options. There is no reason to use RT660 in ST5 unless you just want to use what you have on hand and dont care about optimization.
The Falken measures big because of the bead protector. The same 225/45/15 size Maxxis RC1 and Toyo RR both clear the 226mm template when mounted on 9" wheels, but i dont recall if the RT660 does.
The +1.6 category Maxxis RC1v2 seems to be the best option right now, assuming you have enough power to take advantage of the big modifier. If you dont, then the next fastest option is still the Hoosier R7, again in whatever size aligns with your current power and weight breakpoints.
If you need/want to use something in the +1.0 category, then the Nankang, yokohama AO52, bridgestone and even the nexen are all faster tires than the RT660.

Thanks

Good information, I have not been W2W racing since 2015, 100 or 200tw were not a competitive tire. Had to have good Hoosier R7's to win.

Probably going to figure out how to stay on R's
