Notes on this HOOSIER 245/40/17 fitment. Our buddies at 949 put this size Hoosiers on at event down here so Dan could eclipse my fast time on Rivals. And they warned us immediately that this fitment....does NOT fit, does not clear, fender lips were cutting the tires, etc. Now that we have a turbo with near 300 ft/bs torque we are on our way to flares and this 245/40 is just a stop over in that journey. But before chopping fenders figured we would see how much more work it would take to get them on the car. Yes, this is aggressive roll/pull and yes I cracked the paint under the wrap before getting enough clearance to make it work. We have been running 245/40 Rivals for 2 years but these Hoosiers are a lot bigger despite same listed size. We found these rub the rear inner metal coming off the shock mounts with our current camber settings and I took a mallet to that Friday night so I could run autocross practice Saturday and competition today. My relatively soft spring rates had to go, replaced with 11kg/6kg and taller bump stops. Happy to report it all worked well today, class win on low boost setting with lots more potential for speed as we get it sorted. Heights raised about quarter inch to 13.125 all around to make the setup work.
