Autocross or Roadrace tires?

 

Those are scrub tires from a Grand Am team.

 

I was very pleased with the wheel / tire setup at Sebring last weekend. Lots of grip. I removed the front outer fender liners and rolled all 4 fenders with my BFH to eliminate rubbing from the 225/45-15 slicks.

 

What Grand Am car runs a 15 inch wheel?

 

I've shared too much already. I can't just give up my scrub tire source!

What I learned about the car wasn't limited to tires. I also learned that you don't have to spend thousands on shocks to hang with most anything out there through the corners in a Miata. Right now the car is compliant, with Flyin' Miata sways to keep it together. And it's not just me... a fellow Panoz buddy / Instructor has found the same with his Miata. There are guys at the track who have dumped several thousand dollars into shocks for their Miata... and then they tell you about it. It makes me smile.

you guys think i can fit the 15x9 on a 2000 civic for some street use?

with a 225/45

 

I got a question does the 15x7.15x7.5,15x8 have the same size wheel lip? I know the 15x9 has a big wheel lip. Just wondering if there is any difference on the other 3?

 

The 15x9 w/225's is definitely a winner in my book.

 

7s visually have a smaller lip than 8s do. 8s have a ~1.25" lip, 9s is ~1.75" iirc. 10s have the same lip as 9s, but concave spokes. Not sure on the 7.5s. If you've seen enough wheels, you can visually see the difference between a 7/7.5, 8, 9, or 10.
