Default Traction Concepts LSD conversion

Has anyone used this before?

https://www.tractionconcepts.com/198.../tcxmz5602.htm

I'm having a hard time finding an LSD for less than $500 and although the last bit of driving in the rain was "fun" with 1 wheel drive, i'd like to go LSD. well, not like I went LSD in the 80s anyhow.

After paying for install, your back around 800 or so. Why not just drop in a OEM torsen?

it may be i go that route, or the RX7 LSD. still trying to work it out, which is why i was asking if anyone else has tried this. I can install it myself, but might pay for it instead as there's a good mazda shop locally. Installing it myself would be motivational, as taking the rear apart would mean not driving her again till its done

With that diff, you would have to install your gear set and then backlash. Not super easy. A miata dealer will charge 1k or more I bet.

a miata torsen is a direct drop in replacement.

Just clicked on the linky, pretty sure it is. But it's got a high price tag to make you think it might be quality-ish

that website is ****. Zero technical info or pictures, all it has is basic marketing mumbo jumbo.

I never buy from a company who do not show actual detailed pictures of the product being sold.

hate laziness of not even snapping a picture of your product.

I agree. If they can’t have a shop car with the product they sell, then they can’t stabd behind the product they sell. People like Keith Tanner come to mind. He actually uses and drives on the things sold through FM. And obviously, folks like Ryan, and Emilio do too.

Found this explanation of how these kits work: https://mycomputerninja.com/?p=440. It looks like the kit will end up being worn down by the differential gears. Hard pass; spend the money on a real Torsen or OS Giken.
