Default Subframe brace interchange

Planning on NB rear subframe into NA chassis (97). Which subframe brace fits - NA8 or NB1 brace ? Visually NB1 may not line up with chassis attachments but the sub attachments look the same. Thanks for your help

I'm pretty sure neither are a direct fit. We had to modify a brace to fit a NB rear subframe into a NA8 chassis. I think we modified the NB brace to fit the NA chassis.

Do you recall what was exactly needed. Just planning ahead.

I didn't do the modifications, I was just there for when we swapped back to a NA subframe

NB braces are more or less just more complicated NA8 brace, which is just a 4-point version of the '92-'93 2-point brace, although I don't think the NA8 vs. NB mounting points are close enough to be interchangeable. Keep the brace from the subframe's chassis, 4 out of the 8 bolts will line up, vs 2/6 on the NA brace. Then cut up the forward section to bolt to the NA chassis.

Curly - thank you. Seems it's just may be easier to stay with NA rear subframe and brace as the NB rear sub is not really much of an improvement over NA.

You’ll also have to change an exhaust mount if you change subframes.

Already contemplated cutting the NB exhaust mount and moving it towards the center where NA is. The main reason for the NB subframe swap was a result of the 1 small broken bolt that holds the caps under the differential casing. But since my 97 brace won't fit, I may just pull the subframe and drill out that broken bolt and weld a new one in. At the same time it would be ideal to drop the fuel tank and replace rubber lines with something more current and e85 resistant.
