Do it. Then you don't have to worry about it so much. That's why I bought a beater and swapped its torsen into my car, also because I actually wanted a working LSD for the track.
But my 1.6 did survive 10K miles and well over a hundred passes at the dragstrip, many with drag radials. (I can finish a pass and line up immediately all night for $5 at our white trash paradise strip up here) I only drive it to go fast, not to get anywhere. And when we swapped the 1.6 dif into the beater miata, the fluid was totally clean, no chunks or metal grit. Probably a day at the factory when they used to give out bonuses.
