Question about OS Giken LSD
Ok so I have a built motor and gt3071 setup in various phases of completion to go into an MSM.
I have been thinking about the drivetrain and wondering about the differential. I am not planning on any drag racing but have been looking at the the OS Giken rear diff. My concern is that it seems like I read somewhere that these diffs often fail at the caps that hold the LSD in place(I think there were some companies that made billet type caps). I know the OS Giken is pretty tough but if the caps holding it in place fail isn't it just as likely to be destroyed as the torsen?
Does anyone still make billet caps to hold the LSD in place?
Thanks

We have not been seeing these types of failures, but if you're worried, Contact Ben @ PuddyMod Racing in Florida. He's an S2K diff specialist--The OSG MSM set up is basically the same thing as an S2K diff--and he'll set you up with a really solid diff.
