NC Xidas are here
#50
I just took my first quick drive around my neighborhood. I adjusted height and corner weights roughly and left the car on full soft all around. It felt like I was floating on clouds on my drive. Super happy with it. I am looking forward to getting some more miles and playing with the adjustments.

I was instructing at the track today. Since I've sold Heinz, my track-mostly MSM, I have more time to bench race, kibbitz about the state of the world and/or ride along with other instructors. Today I went out with a fellow Miata Club member who, after discussing options for his PRHT NC last year, was on the pre-order list for Xidas. His car is (for now) mostly stock, save for the Xidas and 225/50R15 Nankang rubber, mounted on wider wheels. I was impressed with the amount of mechanical grip the car has, and also how stable to car felt through long sweepers. After several laps, he kindly offered to let me drive and I couldn't refuse. What a wonderful chassis! Turn-in is razor-sharp (almost twitchy compared to my Xida-equipped MSM). Drop-throttle rotation is quite pronounced but eminently controllable - this car is never going to bite you. Putting two wheels up on the curbing, as expected, is a complete non-event. I must say, I'm impressed. All the car needs to be an ego-destroyer (for other drivers) is more power. My understanding is that a built 2.5 is in the works for a winter project.
