OK thanks for chiming in Emilio. I think I'll probably go with longer springs for now in lower rates so I do not overpower the dampers, and raise the perches. That is until I can find a set of used Flex or the like.

So I looked at the Teins last night and the 2.5" id springs are just going to be too close to the shock body IMO. The 2.75" springs are already pretty close. Plus I would need to fab some perches for the upper end.
Seriously looking at Koni races right now.

I promise to take some hi-res pics tonight. I actually prefer them to be close though, as it allows for less deflection at the top end, ensuring they seat after becoming unloaded. This shouldn't be an issue for you though with 7" springs since you sill almost surely have them preloaded. Are you worried about coil bind causing contact with the body? Isn't this better than coil movement during bind anyhow?

OK thanks, I really do appreciate it.
I am talking myself though into the Koni Race/GC setup though since they will be able to handle higher spring rates (750/450). It is still about $1400 though (new) without top hats and bump stops. Then again that is a lot cheaper than the Flex setup (twin or mono) with comparable spring rates.

'Ground Control' to Major John... Countdown commencing Konis on...
Done deal. Looking forward to having a great track suspension. Shocks/springs go in this weekend, going racing next weekend. Texas Miata Challenge, Motorsports Ranch - Cresson.

Yeah normally I would not move this fast on an item but I definitely have to do something to be ready for the track. Miata Challenge is in two weekends. Plus I did quick research and asking around before pulling the trigger. The Koni Races with hellastiff springs and the stuff I already have looks like a good value setup for the track.

The Koni Races come with bumpstops BTW.
