Depends on final weight of the full trans kit. The driveshaft will be the killer, perhaps you'd want to have one made locally. But we have shipped a number of K swap kits over your way. Usually its a few hundred USD for the entire package which ships in 3 boxes and weighs around 130 lbs.

Kmiata just posted the initial group buy on there website, like $2500 for the complete swap kit. Damn good deal for a solid trans option from a legit company.
Saw the pre-order is for 5 speeds. I'm actually finding it difficult to source a e46 non-M 6 speed.
Do they come on any of the 5 series? I'd really hate to have to swap out my diff after spending a ton on the 3.63 OSGiken. The 6 speed would work out quite well with current setup. If I built a Kmiata, i'd have more leeway to stick with a 5MT.
Yup, initial pre-order is for the ZF 5 speed. Better trans for a race car, but I realize the overdrive 6th gear will be a win for the street guys. The G260 5 speed is also a great option, and actually has a taller cruising gear than the 6 speed. The G260 parts are 99% the same as the ZF 5 speed, just needs a slightly different shifter for optimum shifting dimensions.
Here is the info for the compatible 6 speeds. RealOEM.com is your friend for all things BMW:
Edit - picture fixed.

Where? They only came on the 330i ZHP iirc which is 2003-2006. Just wondering if there's a ZF part number that would make it more universal for search
It looks like all the 6 speeds from the 330i around me are from 03-06, but I'm not sure if it's from a ZHP. Looking through realoem, it looks like there are two part numbers for non-m e46 6 speeds
29 pounds lighter, more compact, cheaper, and essentially the same gear ratios as the 6 speed but without the 6th overdrive gear.
I have this trans in my NB now, currently paired with a 3.73 diff, about to be a 3.91 on Monday as soon as it arrives. Really nice and simple track setup and super easy to work on.
