HELP: Shock rod won't reach through engine comparment

Never mentioned it in there, you're right Joe.
I had and used spring compressors. But you can use a jack to push up the control arm, and with the upper control arm bolt out and the UCA free to move, you can drop the jack and the shock/spring/top hat assembly simply can be pulled out.
Grease helps putting the shocks back into their bottom mount and stops any squeaking for any other n00bs like me.
