As for twin tubes vs. mono tubes...... Keep drinking the marketing cool-aid. 95% of people can't tell the difference between good shocks and bad shocks. AST vs. AFCO; Bilstein vs. koni. It's all about the application.

Like I said, the reason twin tubes have a rap of sucking is that they're mainly used by cheap shock companies because they're easier to make. Theoretically monotubes are better because the shock fluid is less likely to get aerated, but thats only really a concern for endurance racers and even then you will find twin tubes on some LeMans cars.

So you're now saying that your previous statement of "teins suck" is stupid and completely irrelevant to this thread?

Better late than never I guess.

Oh, but the shock dynos (which can be altered by the operator, and can be identical between differently valved shocks) say they suck!!!! :giggle:

Guess I need to get some penske's.

I never said that twin tubes were inherently bad, but any cheap shitty shock is still a shitty shock.

that's because the shocks were designed for it: autocrossers that need to stay in stock classing with stock springs, with like 45 lbs of compressions so they fully compress with the slightest sneeze and then stay on the bumps for infinity levels of spring rate because the rebound is incredibly high (i wish I could find the email exchanges between m.net members and koni when they were developed back in 1997 or so).

are they the worst shock in the world? no. are there better options at the same price point? absolutely. I'd reach for HDs or Illuminas before a Koni.

Yes because ST cars have to run stock springs. :giggle:

not trying to say anything but I wonder how people blow their coilovers? I have coilovers on all my rx7s and my miata, but I never have any problem with them even I beat them up pretty bad

Normally if they blow quickly its from slamming the piston into the shock body from being too low and not having long enough bump stops.
