I'm going to have to think about how that makes me feel for a month or ten before I even start contemplating doing the install.
Jay kay. Ended up ordering the 3 bar from DIY. I was going to get something cheaper and thinking about maybe getting a 4 bar... but resolution is a thing and I chickened out on cheaping out because I like my motor.

I'm gonna correct the resolution comments you keep making: on a good quality modern map sensor and good quality modern ecu, I have yet to see any ill affects from 4bar vs 3bar. at all. If someone has, you got my attention, please share.
I say this because you make it sound like 4bar will have bad resolution and create issues. If you don't need it then of course go for the 3 bar, just don't make up issues out of thin air.

I never claimed it would create issues though. I just didn't see the point of getting something with less resolution all else equal (sensitivity included). They were the same price. I can see how what I was saying may read like that, so thanks for the clarification!
My other reason for the decision was that I think Vlad is right that I doubt that I'll be pushing anywhere near that high. I don't want to go through six speeds and 350 is pushing that as it is. Will likely hit that by 24-25 psi max if not less given some other things I'm planning.

Managed to do two more pulls last night and finished the second one just as it started to rain. Would have been terrifying if it had been a few moments earlier. Got lucky there!
Vtechkiller made a few recs for the tune and this is the result. It was pulling timing way too aggressively with small changes in IAT's. I need to add a bit more preload to the wastegate because it's topping out at 240kpa even though the boost target is set to 248 up top. Kinda funny to see EBC duty cycle go mental trying to hold it together from 6.5K upwards. Logs attached.

I'm having trouble getting the offset for the Afr to sit perfectly between the gauge and TS. I used the published offset and modified it but I'm having a hard time convincing myself it's 100% in agreement.
You'll have to show me how you worked your magic on the fuel map. It really helped all around. Leaning it out a touch should bring it to the 320 range which is what we expected from this setup. More so with the still to be mentioned change en route.

I'll try to fix it tonight.

Vtechkiller leaned out the map a little up top, but I still don't really appreciate any changes. The scales did fix themselves though, so that's nice.
I added a little preload to the wastegate and may have to add a little more. Also now targeting 247kpa between 5-7k up from 240. The max reading I've seen on a log for MAP is 252kpa. I think that's pretty much the max the sensor can read so I think that's about all I can do for now.
Knock percents still look decent and I only see things in the 13-16% range.
And yeah, one of the pulls (light green) is in 5th. Kinda cool to see spool increase by about 200 rpm for that one. Holds power a tad bit better as well. If I had 1-2 psi more to play with for the MAP sensor, I could hold the torque pretty much flat from 4-7k.... Soon!

And then the only thing left was to do ALLOFIT.
Increase wastegate preload: Check
Disable overboost: Check.
Do a pull keeping an eye on the boost gauge: Check
Find new MAP sensor max of 257 KPA: Check
Redo EBC target table: Also check
Redid table to target 240 at 4k, up to 255 at 7.5k. Figured that tapering boost up 2 psi should help keep torque nice and flat. Had to increase preload on the wastegate because EBC was running out of duty.
Hit: Start log. Try not to **** your pants.
Had to stop the pull before it even hit 6900 rpm. EBC still have about 4-5 kpa left to go which should have kept torque flat. Would have made for a 350hp pull, easy. Looking at the plot and the log, I can see that my spool up to target could have been even better since the torque curve rounds out at around 3600-3700 meaning that I could be a bit more aggressive with my EBC. The duty drops there as the algorithm kicks in. Delta is at 20 right now. I bet I could get it down to even 10 if I worked on it, but... this is pretty cooked. I honestly think I could have it set up to hit 300tq by 4k. I've been looking at a bunch of soviet's dyno charts and this honestly isn't too far off from his 6258 stuff when he had it maxed out. Not bad for a setup where the entire manifold/exhaust/turbo setup is cheaper than a new 6258. And I'm still running a cat.
I guess I should say that I'm done doing these pulls for now, unless I get antsy about the EBC stuff and really want to max it the **** out..... but I also bought a squaretop recently so maybe I won't even need the 3 bar MAP sensor I ordered after all. I wouldn't be surprised if the ST got me to 350 with 2 PSI less. Once that's done, I'll try to book some time at a dyno to get a few pulls in. I'm on the fence about going to a local spot once now-ish and once after the ST install. I'll likely end up doing that comparison with VD and head to it once I get things installed.
I'm honestly stoked right now. Vtechkiller and Stefanst are the best-worst influence haha.

1) grats on the newfound power. past 300 these things are rocketships
2) I don't think this setup has the lungs to hold a flat torque curve to redline. at all.
3) lol @ the constant need to justify a significantly inferior setup by being "almost as good". just enjoy what you have
4) I don't think you're gonna gain that much going from vics to flattop, but the very tip of your top end should probably improve
btw it looks like your torque unnaturally bumps up past 6k. might be a downhill road or might be a dip, but its helpful to do a run in each direction and average the results. if you want even more precision

2) Even with the bigger TB and Squaretop? And feeding in 2-3psi slowly past 4k? I'm okay if it starts to choke up past 7k to be honest. I'm never that high up in the revs.
3) Definitely enjoying it! I think it's still pretty impressive for it to even be in the ballpark! Honestly though, his tune was on point. Look at what my VVT is doing! Needs work mang... 250 tq before 4k is... YIKES!
4) Little bit better breath plus a tiny bit more boost and let's see what happens.
Re: Torque bump up. Hmm. Possible that it dipped down then up a hair at the very end. Going back the other way is sketchy as hell because theres a bump on the correct side of the road and I think I got some air last time lol.
I honestly just need to get to the dyno. Need to read about vvt tuning first to see why this is having such a hard time getting to target.
