At this point, there is nothing we can write that will change George's mind. He got in a bit over his head, didn't check things carefully and blames the resulting damage on Supermiata. In his view, we should replace his damaged shocks for free, or maybe discounted, while admitting it's our fault. It's impossible to cover every possible interference or incompatibility when mixing various different aftermarket parts with various adjustments that change their function within a system. Engine parts mixed that don't match. Exhausts and motor mounts that don't play well together. Brakes and wheels that are enemies. The list goes on.
If he bought Ohlins from Goodwin and ELBJ from FM, he would have the exact same issue.
Bumpstops/shock length. What we have is proven to work. Does it respond to adjustments and tuning? Can some owners add a few mm thick shock packer to reduce bump travel if desired? Can they revalve? Can they change spring lengths? Yup It's a race car. Tune things. Experiment. Just don't ask Supermiata to spoon feed you every single bit of knowledge you will need to make your Miata work flawlessly. We publish tons, we share what we know. We make good parts that are exceedingly well thought out and made right. The rest is up the tuner to educate themselves as they begin tearing the car apart and doubling or tripling the power.
George,
Please post a pic of your front camber eccentrics as they are right now.
