Hooked up ms3. Tried to start car. Smoke!
So I got my ms3x all hooked up, loaded firmware and basemap, calibration everything. I followed brains instructions for everything.
then I go to crank the car over and as soon as I do white smoke starts coming out of the ms3 box. I immediately stopped and pulled the ms3 box. There is a burn mark on the lower part of r56. Then the bottom of the pcb board along the writing you can see some black burned dots. I looked over everything and couldn't see and issues with solder joints touching or debris on the board causing a short. So I loosely put it back in the car so I could see the internals in case a fire started again. Then it wouldn't connect to my laptop at all. Picture below of the date to the board. Searched and not much on this topic, just looking for help. R56 burns marks and blackarks by the lower bowling & grippo writing.

Ok so in brains 90-93 diagram he has 1b as the wire to use from the stock ECU for 12v power. This is how I have it connected.
However looking at my 90-93 wiring diagram I see this is the circuit for the cas and fuel injectors, looking like the power wire part of the circuit from the ECU. 1a from the room fuse looks like the appropriate wire to tap NOT 1b as listed in the directions. I would assume it was getting power from this wire enough to load the firmware but them when I went to crank the car over there was a surge of power to the board as the injector power was going and it friend part of the board. Sound legit?

Ok so I've tested my ms3 for power on the main board. All the 12v test areas are testing at 11.6-12.3 . This is powered by the car (in the car). All the 5v spots are testing at 4.97-4.98. still not getting any connection to tuner studio. So I have power to the board still that is kinda a relief. But I'm lost on how to troubleshoot farther.
i am connecting through the USB a-b plug. Sucks because it worked once, now it won't after the smoke. I will post a picture of my board in a few...
