Does anyone know what this is??
This is in my engine bay and I’m not sure what it even is. It’s Mitsubishi but the clip with the item number on it is broken so I can’t even look it up. I’m taking my engine apart and I was wondering if I need to put this back. I took a picture of the actual object and the plug that goes into it. Thanks

It's a solenoid. Has something to do with fuel pressure on hot starts. If you have the OEM ecu I would keep it.
If you're stand-alone it isn't used.

The vacuum line routing would tell us for sure, but it looks like this guy to me.

It is NOT the egr solenoid.
I just took this pic of the solenoid on my 97. It mounts on the intake manifold and has a vacuum line running to the fuel pressure regulator. Doesn't matter for OP as neither will be used with a stand alone, but I wanted to be clear for anyone seeing this in the future.

Red is the solenoid OP was asking about. His pic is identical to the solenoid in my pic which shows the location on the intake manifold.
Yellow is the location of the egr solenoid(s) on MY 97.
EGR solenoid on my 97.

Thanks again guys, that has cleared it up. I just swapped in a 99 head on my 94 and trying to just clean up the engine bay a little while putting everything back together. I'll leave it off and see if I have any hot start issues like brain said.

Look at the applications for that part. It isn't even for a ******* miata.
