Rear Chassis Bracing

Rear Chassis Bracing
Rear Chassis Bracing is in the way of my Kraken 3" exhaust. Bending the hangers so the exhaust sits higher wouldn't work as the muffler and exhaust tip would be too high. I can only think of three different solutions
- Take a hammer and dent the pipe inward at least "0.25
- Make metal spacers for the 6 bolt holes so the bracing sits lower...But would this decrease whatever regidity the brace provdes? I would also have to find larger bolts that fit.
- Delete the brace entirely. I've read a few posts on miata.net that the brace isn't needed.

Option 2- Spacers would be fine IMO if you don't mind the brace being lower (not sure if there's other points lower without looking).
That brace ties the sides together, so it's providing rigidity mostly in tension / compression in a 2D plane, not bending / twisting. So if you move it a bit lower with spacers it's still gonna do the same thing as long as your bolted connections are similarly strong as before.
