MKTurbo Sale Thread

Cool. Thanks guys.
These look to be the right links at ATP Turbo (T3 feed & drain):
https://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tp&Product_Cod e=GRT-GSK-007&Category_Code=GSK
https://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=tp&Product_Cod e=GRT-GSK-011&Category_Code=GSK
I think my plan is to use high temp thread sealer, these gaskets, and skin them with high temp RTV.

That looks to be far more of a change than just the turbine AR and more ball bearings. BIG increase on the compressor wheel. Will you take some measurements to compare the two? I suspect the spool difference between those two will be significant. I'll also suggest that all china turbo buyers carefully scrutinize their turbos and check torque on all hardware. One of my last two purchases did not meet advertised specs and both had loose hardware.

That's a big compressor wheel- about the size of an eBay GT3076 and bigger than a 57 trim T4. The wheels play a larger roll in spool/power than the AR does. The older turbo looks like a T40B copy- less efficient/older design. Are the turbine wheels the same size? It also looks like the big turbo inducer comes up much further/higher at the center- so the fins have more surface than the smaller turbo.

Wheel size is one of the things that dictates the T04B spec- among other things like fin blade/number (6 vs. 7), profile, angles and measurements (like the height diff). No doubt the two compressor wheels you have are similar, but also different. They reality with eBay/china turbos is that there's no telling what they copied, and that the name may have nothing to do with the wheel. Afaik, Garrett T series compressor wheels were 6 major 6 minor fins/blades (similar to your small turbo). My eBay t3/t4 50 trim has 6 and so did my Garrett t3/t4 50 trim.
fwiw- Garrett specs the T04B wheel as follows:
(inducer - exducer)
2.18" / 55.37mm - 2.75" / 69.85mm
Which is close enough to your small turbo.
IMO - if it's a street car, who cares? Really only matters to you and what you like.

Ah i didnt know that. I thought it came down to housing design, didnt know the wheel specs played a role as well. Good info man thanks!
