Well, I never have been able to get a VSS, not sure why.
Anyway, I got another spare 5 speed today for a reasonable price, it even had the seals done recently. Craigslist is hilarious, I emailed and texted about 6 people with 5 speeds for sale offered them all $100, a couple people actually got pissed about it good luck to them. As if anyone but me and miata2fast want 5 speeds, I am sure they are flying off the shelf on week old ads.
Now after I put one of these in I will still have a spare.

Thanks Ian, I played with it at some point to set my tire size and drive ratios. But I never was able to see my VSS, I will look at it again.
These are my options, I remember it not being straight forward to set that stuff up. Mine is a DIY MS2, poverty version.

Mine seems pretty rudimentary by comparison.
Now the real question is, how the hell did I manage to post that twice?
Making progress, just need to open the interior a bit and pull the shifter. Then just the remaining bolts for the tranny and PPF, and I can yank it out.

Well sort of, have you seen my poverty laptop for my car, Nigel called it a brick. It barely runs windows 7, and it can communicate with my ms2 without any adapters. It's only purpose is to run TS and MLV, and occasionally post a screenshot(or 2 I guess) for you guys.
I will say one thing about it though, it has folwn off the passenger seat smashing into the dash and floor at least a dozen times, and still functions. Maybe I should just log with the thing on the floor from now on.

Supposed to be dry this coming Wednesday. I always cringe thinking about pulling the tranny, but really, these cars are so nice to work on.
Broken **** out, at least most of the oil from my dipstick incidents seems to be on that thing.
Actually got the new one in a little while ago but didn't take any pics yet. I think I am going to fill the transmission before I put the downpipe back, super easy access right now.
