Oil coming out the oil filler cap?

Oil coming out the oil filler cap?
I might be just panicking for no reason and the cap might just not have been tight enough, but,,,,
I opened the hood today, to find oil all around the oil filler.
Does the filler cap need a rubber O ring? there seems to be no gasket on the filler cap just a hard mating surface.
I recently installed a VTA oil catch can, dont think its related.
am i building pressure in the valve cover? i basically have both valve cover ports plugged into the VTA catch can.

pcv not gutted, but I blew threw it and it's open vc to im and closes the other way. I meant to get a hose barb connector to replace it. 1/2 inch right?
catch can is 10% full, I checked.
also catch can smokes when engine is running? Smoke is normal out of the valve cover?

the plunger is a big restriction inside the pcv, pressure from behind is actually pushing the plunger up into a position that further reduces the flow. They flow the most with zero pressure. Gutting one with allow a lot more pressure to escape the VC.
It's like drinking a slurpee with a chuck of ice stuck in it. doesn't work well until you dislodge it and suck again with a fully open straw.

how much ventilation does the VC need? is running both ports to one catch can enough? i would think the single can with the tiny filter on top would flow much less air than two 1/2" hoses going to it.
should i do 2 catch cans, one for each port? or drill out the catch can filter hole fitting and install a 3/4 inch fitting and bigger filter?
running 15 PSI on the turbo.
