Better miata hardtop sercurity?

I went for about 2 weeks without any sort of lock on my hardtop - it was nerve-wracking even though I live in a good area and the car was parked in my lighted driveway the whole time. My son uses TopLocs on his, but I went with the Acne Talon (it was just being released when I got my hardtop.

Attempted Hardtop Theft
Attempted Theft of Hardtop
The creeps strike again. We are using the Talon security system which worked fine for ten years until a thief with a Sawzall came along. Fortunately a neighbor interrupted the brazen mid-day attempt. We immediately removed our hard top. But what to do next?

Take the part to a machinist and have them bore some holes to take common tungsten carbide drill rod in a press fit with some green loctite (I think that’s the color, the machinist will know). I’m not familiar with the particular mechanism you’re using, but make sure the rod would be in the way of any effective cut through the part.
Still, you’ll be in an arms race with them. They may step up their game.

Bloody hell! I know HTs are getting exxy, but this is .
Not only do they steal them, they come prepared to defeat the antitheft devices!
I'd be thinking about a hidden GPS tracker and/or internal motion detectors with camera or alarm. Is this happening on the driveway/at home, or out on the street (ie opportunistic)?
