Finally starting my Lotus 7 turbo project
I swear that nothing has made me feel bipolar as much as this project!
I have owned a diypnp for 2 years and various turbos for at least one. Any time I have started to make progress I start to think maybe I should swap the motor. Well this past weekend after a ton of bs issues I decided to say f it and turbo. First step was the Megasquirt.
Since my wiring harness has gone on a diet I was concerned that maybe some wires would be needed but it appeared to be ok
While adding another O2 bung to get my MS skills up I laid a Subaru turbo in place. Looks like I have plenty of room.
Sadly I feel like this turbo is too small so I'm going to throw it up for sale and look for a BG one.
Here is the first picture. Planning to make my own log manifold as most others don't fit this chassis

I don't really have a goal. Is "a lot" a goal? Ultimately 300+ but since I haven't driven an 1100 lb car with more than 115 HP it becomes hard to say. 200 might be enough!
Engine is stock now. 94 engine.
Basically I plan to get another block and add rods and pistons.
Still debating the turbo and then I have the problem of trying to cram it all in and keep the heat down so my legs don't burn

TD04 would be more than adequate for 200WHP; and on stock engine.
You have to figure out how you are going to figure out.
Seems like <5# per HP should be enough. cars 5# per HP

My main goal is to have a turbo frame that can have the body upgraded. I'm hoping not to have to change flanges etc at a later date..
That's my biggest concern on the td04. I thought perhaps about the vf39 or one of the Borg Warner efr's

Well it might be time to try another wideband even though my aem has less than an hour on it..
Plugged the gauge into my db9 port and the af numbers are the same as I saw in studio tuner.... Which is different to the gauge face..
I've changed the ground wire.. Anyone have any other ideas?

Ahhhh victory today! After trying everything imaginable I got a tip to disconnect the wideband o2 sensor and should see 14.7 as a constant. Gauge showed it but megasquirt was at 12.
After trying every very ground I could it didn't get better. I got frustrated.
Then I had a thought that it could be the stock o2 sensor.I walked over and unplugged it and perfect!!
short version- disconnect the stock o2 sensor.
going to try tune it tomorrow. Wish me luck
