Went to a local car show for pre-73 cars, entered my girlfriend's 1956 big window, fordamatic. Had to do some last minute work on it to get it to stop pissing oil.
Also, got to talk to a friend about his Z. Then went into a spirling depression about how much I could have put into a Z instead of a miata.

I want some approval on my timing map, specifically pertaining to CA 91oct "knock special" gas before I go into boost.
Paging 18psi
I did compression/leak down.
Cyl1 - 178psi Cyl2-4 - ~170psi
And about ~10% leak down on all cylinders.
So the motor is mostly good.
This timing map
AFR map
Any suggestions?
Inb4 it takes another 6 months to actually be in boost.

So you want me to tune your car for you, but with suggestions instead of hands-on?
el oh el
But sure, whatever:
you should be able to run 27 at 100kpa, and higher below that, yours is too retarded for no reason.
After that taper it about 2* per psi for really conservative
no idea why you have that high timing hump below 2900, might see knock there if you lug the car
no need to run fatter than 11.6afr at full boost

Will do, I'll iron that out too.
The reason I ask for your help specifically is because you have a lot of experience with it; a lot of guys have way better gas, so the second I run a DIY/brain's basemap, it starts pinging when it is hot outside and has some odd knocking in the higher rpm. Stupid ******* CA gas. Knocking at 90kpa is a lot less stressful than at like 140kpa.

I just learned of some interesting but sad news, I will have the chance to buy a 240z this year from a neighbor...my mind wanders from the miata project to pursue what I consider my favorite car ever made. **** is a rough decision for me. Inb4 "tell me what car to buy, 240z or miata" thread

My cousin has a "forever project" 240z Series 1 sitting in his garage. Its been there for at least 25 years and its like a damn time capsule. So pretty. If that was offered to me, and I could only keep one, I'd struggle too.

Shiiiit. In socal it is getting into the 90* and my car is going up into the 230* range after cruising on the freeway at ~65mph. Now I can put off buying a splash pan and ducting everything. Or I can just build a splitter/undertray.
lazy
also, this fab9 stage2 intercooler is insanely big looking back at it. Regret. Want for precision 350hp.

I didn't buy new. I don't buy anything new. I am way too cheap. Just a good deal, but I want to redo it already. Someone will want this massive core.
Or I will keep it and get a ******* undertray on the car and stop being a lazy ********.
