Civic ran a stop sign and hit us at 40mph, never touched the brakes or even tried to swerve. Can see the tail end of his car. Luckily he didn't hit the door as my girlfriend was a passenger. Kid seemed high. Police and everything.
I was planning on selling this car in about a week. Not happening now. From what I can see, it needs both headlights, both fenders, bumper, crash support and it cracked the radiator and bent my tie rod a bit. His car was just murdered by my crash support, bent his wheel in half and snapped both control arms in half.
Kill me.

That's what I keep teling myself. At this point it being totaled would be ideal. I'll know today when the adjuster looks at it. Insurance told me it is "no fault" and I will have to pay my $1000 deductible until they can subjugate the other insurance.
The dude had no insurance as it wasn't even his car, was maybe 20, but his uncle showed up and was actually a legit dude and wants to go through his insurance as he is the car owner.
I don't have rental coverage so I will have to figure out a way to school and work, that's my main concern right now.

I don't even know what you're talking about, but ok.
I've done this at least a dozen times over the past 10 years: call their ins, file claim, they either come out to inspect or have you take car to 3rd party shop (of YOUR CHOICE, it's the law in CA) and get estimate. Then they either pay to have it repaired or total it and cash you out.
In fact just helped sister in law who went through this bout 3 months ago.

Why is insurance calling it a no-fault incident when one party ran a stop sign and may have been under the influence? If his uncle let him drive the car, he should be liable somewhat, no? If it's his uncle's car, isn't his uncle's insurance on the hook? When my gf got hit in her mom's car, her mom's insurance was responsible for cleaning up the mess because that's who the car was insured under. I don't really know about this ish all that well, and damn 18psi.... dozen times in 10 years? Either you've had **** luck or you've helped out a ton of your friends/family dealing with this!
**** dude, glad you and your gf are okay...

I am not sure how insurance companies work tbh. After giving them my info, they told me that. They are receiving the police report tomorrow that has a statement in it where he claims it was 100% his fault.
**** happens right? Been thinking of wrapping up all my pennies into a fancy s2000.
