Hello,

when i connect the boost solenoid, the car makes random resets. The rpm drops and come back again.

Using composite logger i realised that connecting solenoid to 12V the CAS signal get all wired as you can see on video


2 logs, with and without 12 volts on boost solenoid


Any suggestions???

 

Where are you pulling 12v from?

 

i tried to use the blue plug for timing light and 12v from MAF connector. both have the same problem

 

Do you keep signal grounds (such as CAS) separate from power ground?

 

was the flyback diode install properly on the boost control circuit? Do you follow the writeup when you assembled and ground the (4) wires 4A-D correctly?

 

The installation was very straight forward using the instructions.

I think that i don't use separated grounds, but this is how i connected the wiring.

 

id honestly switch it to this:
SG 4A
SG 3O
GND 4C
GND 4D



3O is a sensor ground, all the 96-97 sensors use that (both o2, cam, crank, maf, egr, etc) to ground.

4A is labeled as blk/ lt grn, which traditionally is a sensor ground, but the docs shows it goes directly to ground at the engine.

No luck. Just change the ground but it is the same behavior...

 

Is that the solenoid flyback diode?

Are you running a separate wire from the ECU to the solenoid?
Or is it a wire that's running alongside the CAS wire in the same loom?

At the moment i'm without solenoid flyback diode, but i alredy tried.

 

It's better to have the flyback diode whether or not you have CAS issues.
