I posted this because I think it gives a good idea of what this swap is like, it really is the ultimate fun. To me it blows away my old 450+whp BP.
It's the best platform you can have. Even if you want big power, this is still the better platform.
I have the 245 15x10 combo waiting to go on. That's gonna need more power to bring the fun level to this level. So I have a gt3076 lined up, at 12psi I will be pushing close to 400whp

Boost is a bit down the road but it's on the cards for sure.
No plans on going back to the strip, I just installed my new tomei diff the other weekend, when I got under the car I had a cracked diff housing. No doubt happened at the drag strip. The wheel hop is murder, and to eliminate it is a lot of custom suspension and drivetrain work that would render the Miata unless for anything else.

Where was it cracked?

Cracked at the notch where they are designed to crack. I upgraded to a RX7 housing.
There really is no use trying for a better time if I can't warm the tires and launch it harder. I sold the slicks to buy my new wheels.
And I already need a 6pt roll bar per nhra rules.

The trick to the track rules are to be a one hit wonder and never make a full pass till you have your 1/8th mile down.
They also will generally not kick you after one pass, at least at any of my local tracks. Shoot one let me make back to back to back mid/low 10 second passes without even a firejacket but i was asked not to return till i had one at the very least.
Obviously not the safest idea.

So for 2017 I'm building a new motor, adding some more safety and hopefully painting the car. I decided to stay naturally aspirated after seriously considering turbocharging. This car is a blast to drive and it takes a beating like a champ, I don't want to ruin reliability for a bunch of power that won't be to useful on the street .
So so here is the first piece of the puzzle, this is a 4piston Racing Pro156V2 , pictures don't do it justice this is one beautiful cylinder head. 156cc port volume, Ferrea 6000 series stainless valves (35mm intake 30mm exhaust) , Supertech 92lb dual springs and Ti Retainers. This head flows 360 CFM according to 4Piston
Next week I will be ordering camshafts (4piston RR4 aggressive road race cams for 2.4L)
The goal is a 300whp 93 pump gas motor. It will be 12.5:1 Compression and Rev to 8500-9000
Im also working on a black interior swap, I just installed my Zerek Fab roll bar and I have a Gforce harness going in.

Well what I have currently is a skunk 2 ultra race manifold and ktuned 90mm.
I also have a cnc ported ultra street manifold on the way.
The plenum volume and max throttle body opening on the street version will not be adequate for this motor, I would love to use the longer runners
so I'm going to fit up the runners and see if I can fit a custom 3 liter plenum with my 90mm. If that looks like a major pain in the *** then I will stay with the ultra race.

Looks awesome Josh, when do you expect to have it completed and in the car?
We have an engine build planned for early 2017 too. Stock Type S head, big cams, 12.5:1 bottom end, and will be tuned on e85. I'll be sure to point people to your thread here for good info as well.
