Deciding to go three wide in a high speed corner. Not only three wide, but two faster cars overtaking a slower one in the center. Not smart driving IMO The camera car knew damn well that the Miata probably had no idea he was closing in. I've learned on a motorcycle, that passing has risk. Rushing a pass in an unsafe area often has consequences.

Camaro dragstrip crash ~ 200 mph
He claims he hit the brakes and it swerved.
It looked to me that he was holding the steering wheels loosely, and if he'd stopped the wheel turning right he wouldn't have crashed (3rd vid):

you know we have a thread for bad driving videos right?
limp-wristed the steering, not enough room to actually slow down, not enough safety equipment for how fast that car was.
he lifts and hits the brakes at 200mph and takes his hand off the wheel and looks like he even shifts (another very poor shift) and completely upsets the balance of the car that cant even do straight well.

Well, I'm going to be generous and assume the driver was still delirious when he got out of the car, because he made zero effort to rescue, or at least oversee, the rescue of his passenger. Under his own power, he just walks away from the car, still on his own feet, and makes no attempt, let alone gesture, to return to aide his "buddy for life". It just defies my every instinct.

These guys decided to go with G-Force (budget) harnesses, improper mounting for those harnesses (the seats without pass through holes for the harnesses), no full cage (a shitty thin tubed half cage at that) and NO ******* HANS?!?!?!?!?!!

Please elaborate on this. I work in the textile industry, testing in particular. I've only held a couple different belts in my hands, and haven't done any in depth research as to the construction and materials used. US made mill spec materials always test better than others, with the exception of one European manufacturer. Nylon is the preferred webb material. Good strength to weight ratio, but need expensive chemical treatments to resist UV rays. They all use what I think is an incorrect stitch pattern. Metal components have the same susceptibilites as the textile webbing.
What difference have you guys seen or know of, regarding the quality difference in the various manufacturers belts? I might need to dig way into this...
If anyone has old belts they would like to donate to science, I can test for things like stretch, cycle load and ultimate strength.

That being said, you would like a car with this much power and this much money put into it would be utilizing a professional race tested belt, such as Schroth or Sabelt. Sabelt was used in one of the most demanding racing classed, F1, for quite a long time. That for me allows me to put a lot of trust in the manufacturer. I would rather crash in my 200mph+ car with a manufacturer with race heritage rather than a budget belt, even with FIA certification.
On another note, second video this week (after the Camaro) that a stupidly fast car is pathetically under equipped with safety equipment. This idiot is running a 200+mph car with stock safety stuff and what looks like no roll cage whatsoever.

G-force may be well and good, I can't say as I don't have experience with their belts. In their defense, they do hold certification.

F1 racing, isn't it rife with money infused politics? I could be wrong.
Every form of racing seems to have a following of certain brands. Coming from off road racing, you don't see Sabelt often, if ever. Can't imagine many other motorsports where the vehicle runs on the brink of disaster at 150mph. For hours at a time.
I was looking for actual proof and or experience. I have the ability to test said budget and high end pieces, but not the money to buy the specimens.

So the question after installing all the go fast goodies and safety equipment (whatever that may be) and before atempting to drive at 200+ mph is: does this car produse lift or downforse at that speed and how much... A quick google search say that an ss camaro produces 200 lbs of lift at 150mph, it apears that this car could not keep traction at full throttle at near 200 mph over ondulations of the runway etc. it seems like a pretty basic thing to ask your self
