My Almost Complete 1.8 Turbo Kit
Good Morning,
This is my first post on MiataTurbo.net and I think it is about time since I almost have my full turbo kit. I have been reading as much as I can here to prepare myself.
Below you will find my turbo kit plan and what part's I have already purchased. Forgive me if I forgot anything.
Few Questions has anyone done a similar type build?
What power did you end up making?
My goal is 250/250 hp/t. Would I achieve this with this build?
Also since I am going T3 will the spool be hurt significantly? Roughly when will I be hitting boost?
And lastly what BOV/Wastegate should I get? Any bad reviews from the 25$ eBay ones?
Any weak links in my build that I should fix?
Should I rebuild my engine prior to turboing? My car is a 1995 1.8l with 200k miles runs and drives great.

Without a doubt this. I know plenty of people who run MS1's on track because it works well enough for running the engine. They don'e have any of the creature comforts that the MS3 excels at. Like badass closed loop idle control and AC control and ****.

Okay Ill keep that in mind when ordering the BOV and WG.
Once I get the rest of my turbo parts I will start the install and build thread. ( ETA 1-2 months )
It will be my first build thread and I hope to not run into to many major issues.
However it will be my first time dealing with tuning and taking my car apart so mistakes will be made.

Will start taking pictures of the parts as they come in and once I have them all I will start the install/build thread.
ARtech manifold and down pipe should be here in a week and then I will just need the injectors and the clutch to start the install.
Saving up for a ms3pnp or pro but I will start the build thread without it.
Should be a relatively slow build thread since I am still waiting on parts and since I will prob encounter some problems being a noob and all.

You need to get the MS3 of some sort before anything else. Install it with a wideband and learn to tune with the engine naturally aspirated. The likely hood of you blowing up your engine is far smaller this way.
