Question about alternator control - installing MSPNPPro for 99-00 miata using the 99 miata harness, engine is a JDM VVT engine, going into my Exomotive Exocet. I am also planning on using a Race Technology Dash2 w/ CAN interface and not using the stock gauge cluster.
I have read that the alternator circuit on the NB goes through the battery indicator light in the stock cluster. What I am less sure about is whether this is still the case w/ the MSPNPPro, and if so, what wiring will I need to do to keep the alternator functioning without the stock gauge cluster?

Not sure if this helps but I would suggest just reverting to an NA alternator and get rid of that computer controlled alternator, when I went full stand alone that was the first and best thing I did, I had alot of issues with lights and getting a steady charging voltage, its not hard and I think took like an hour or so to do it.

use the miata selection in software for the alternator. put the batter indicator light on another spare output.
the end.
