Awesome read, this is VERY impressive. Loved the vids too.
" when mechanical #2 happened. An aftermarket throttle body return spring failed..... Andrew Kidd (Savington here, car owener / driver) did his magic, replaced the throttle body in minutes....Rover is now 4 laps down......"
This wouldn't happen to be the "new" $300.00+ throttle body that was developed for miatas I read about in another thread, would it?

Andrew/TSE and our Team 949 Racing will finish the R&D then send our requested changes back to the mfr.
I had sent them a list of revisions about 8 weeks ago when it was first released and I thought that would cover it. This problem was a new one.
As with most things of this nature, during endurance racing we found something that needs fixing long before anyone else would. Hopefully this tweak will make it 100% for every conceivable application. What problems it takes the average autocrosser or HPDE guy a few months or a year to uncover, we find out before the first fuel stop

Thanks for clarifying Emilio. After re-reading what I said it sounds like I was talking ****. I didn't mean it that way, as this type of thing is to be expected when you get a brand new product on a real track car with real drivers. As long as they revise it of course.
Anyways good show guys.

oh I agree it is extremely competitive and my post was in no way meant to be negative toward chump car. in fact this year we will probably be doing 5 races. I just wish that we had some of the other options available. really I just need an excuse to be able to build another car
I have had several conversations with the owners of NASA about growing the endurance racing side of their business. IMO, it's the premier form of amateur road racing in the US. We go just as fast as the sprint race guys do in the same class but we do it for 3 hrs.
The WERC logo and facebook page are some of the new mechanisms put in place this year. I'd like to see a national series with maybe a single 6hr race in September to declare a national endurance champion instead of the 25hr. Many teams just can't put together the resources for the 25 but a 6hr might just be attainable. I'd also like to see more regions holding mini-series of 3-4 races.
It's up to guys like you to become group leaders and make it happen in your home region.
