P1: Why your lucky. P2: Why my lucky what?
While miata owners looking to track or tracking their miata's are lucky enough to have the track section here. With enough knowledgable owners to just about answer any question or fix any problem. Below is a post on a very popular Mustang board...I will bold my favorite parts
It been a while since i have been on this site and i am very happy to come back over and announce that i am in love with my Race Red 2012 BOSS 302!!
Some of you on here know me and most of you don't!!
I am TEDD
I wanted to share with you guys some great photos and videos of my 2012 Boss 302!!
For starters i am a road racer at heart!!
SO this car has been a long wait coming!
I have always admired the BOSS 302's and am proud to own and race mine!!
Here is the story of my Boss
I odered it 6 months ago and it took 3 dealers to get the car and i finally got it!
The first weekend i got it i took it to my good buddys dyno shop! to do some dyno pulls of course cause i was interested in seeing a before and after of the car!
I have come to the suprise that the car is very fast and a tq monster. It put down 391 hp with 360 tq on the 2nd pull stock!! (Now mind you the car still had 87 octane gas from the dumb *** dealership)
We then took the next step asap to do some testing with a SCT xcal 3 tuner and a JLT cold air intake!
Like i said before i am a road racer and the one thing that really dissapointed me about the boss being stock was that the car was a dogg at the low end! Under 4k rpm the car was not responsive. but after 4k rpm the car woke up and was an animal all the way to 7800 rpm red line!!
So needless to say i need the cold air intake and tuner to wake the car up!! Since the cars first test and track was going to be the 3.7 mile track in Sebring FL!
I am a solo/instructor status driver for the past 8 years! I have driven and instructed high hp muscle cars in ontrack at different driving schools and ontrack clubs!
The solo group consists of all types muscle cars new old and straight up race cars! So getting back to the point that the car needed to be fast and was going up against 911 turbo race cars , bmw m3 m5 race cars, zo6, shelbys 03 cobras and supersnakes!! etc..
After we tested the intake and tune the car put down 411 hp to the tire with 395 tq! Which transformed this BOSS 302 in to a corner carving animal!
Since the car had a lot od tq and hp to the tire i installed a set of steeda billet lower control arms since i started to get some hop! That instantly eliminated that problem and took the car to the track last weekend!!
The Boss out ran so many cars on the track i had guys coming up to me like WTF?
Mind you the car red lines at 7800 rpm and most of the shelbys z06 911 etc.. at most redline at 6500-7000 tops while most wouldn't even shift that high!
So i made up my mind and took the car all the way up to 7800 rpm at every shift on the track with only 175 miles on the car!
I ended up out handling and out driving these high hp cars all weekend.
They could not make the pass on me and most of them were all over my rear bumper! If i could not pass them i was all over there rear bumper!!
With my driving skills and the power of the car i was able to squeeze 2 min 30 sec laps and get the speedo to read 160 mph down the front and back straight of sebring shifting at 7800rpm!!
***(Of course i had a set of shaved NT01 nitto 18 inch tires on for max grip which i must say are the best of all)****
So i must say FORD did an amazing job on this car and i will continue to beat this car up on track!!
Our next event is Road Atlanta july 1st weekend!! then Homestead FL.
Then PBIR west palm Beach FL.
Then the best track of all in october Daytona!
