Pretty pleased with results. The new 1800cc engine was a lot harder to drive and was a major excercise in corner exit traction management on 225 Nt01's. A change of cornering style and management of the tyres a lot more important now.
With approx 80-100 nm more torque and about 40 whp it was quite a lot different. Sadly only .001 of a second faster than the 1600 time last year...which, after all the years of bagging 1600's here, I was expecting more... maybe its seat time and driving style.....? (or perhaps the tyres are the limiting factor?)
Great result! Can't be unhappy with a 1st place even if you had hoped to shave more time off your PB. Well done. How were conditions, surface temp, etc. worse/better than your previous PB?
I’ve always loved what you have done with your car. How much seat time do you have with the new setup?
Thanks
First meeting was 3 laps, 2 under safety car then bye bye gearbox.
2nd meeting was this one, of 5 x 8 min sessions.

The conditions were around 5-10 deg C hotter, some with very strong sun and UV. Hoping that was the difference... I did have a forecast 12.8 on the dash at 3/4 lap but locked up over a crest to the hairpin.
So definitely have more to come...I just thought it would be easier to come by with the jump in power.
