NB/MZR racer
So I started this project in November of 18 and thought I would share with the group. I know the question begs to be asked, "why put a MZR in a N/B chassis?" The HP gains are significant but maybe not enough to warrant the effort. In this case we are building to a set of rules (SCCA STU). I raced a N/C in the class for the last couple of years and the thought is, "lets get the same HP in a smaller package?" So I had this bastard N/B chassis hanging around. It is a 01 that I acquired as a empty shell and built up as a 99. I had bought a wrecked 99 from a customer, so it was just a matter of swapping the parts over. It was a simple build and became the "village bicycle". I rented it to a bunch of people and most of my friends drove it at some point.
Then late last year I had this harebrained idea to F it all up and make the most complicated race car I have ever built out of it! I gathering pics now and hope to tell the story of the process here.
Here is the car as it was end of the 18 season.
Tilton pedal setup
modeling header
Dry sump tank when I got it. Shortly after I took 6" out of it!
DS pump and fished header
MCS shocks are in but ride is a bit 4x4 still
Thanks #stoptech
Rad mounted, swaybar in
3" side exhaust
Shortened tank and custom mount in.
getting the motor trans and rear lined up
Tank cover mocked up in wood
BTW if someone will give me a hint on how to scale these pics down I'd appreciate it!
