NA hood with headlight covers - Who makes them?
#62
Just a follow up,
Got them installed today, quality is good, fit is okay for a race car. I would be disappointed if this was a street set up. There is some trimming and fitting to be done, they are not PnP, (I wasn't expecting them to be) and the curvature needs some "tweaking". Now I can add all the removed headlight weight in the middle of the car with the rest of the ballast!
I am sure it is very difficult to make something that was never on the car in the first place, and it fits all cars perfectly, every time.
Overall I'm happy with them, and maybe, when I have a little time, I can bond some more aluminum to them to close the front outboard gaps a little better.

Whoa! Nice to see these are working out for you guys. Graeme - That is a fair assessment of the parts.
pdexta - That pic is worth a thousand words. Looks real clean.
As others have said, Pete makes them in batches, though louvers are a bit different, the panels have to be louvered before they are cut and formed, so louver orders are 'custom', in that you can specify the number of louvers, which way they face, etc.
Pete sold a couple sets just recently and make a couple more. Here's the eBay link, you can contact him through the link with questions.
I asked Pete to make me a set a few years ago - that's my extent of involvement (as a customer). I do not make any money or get anything else out of the deal - I'm just a happy customer and happy when others enjoy them, too.

I've got a bare aluminum hood with some of Wildo's aluminum covers welded to it (pictured a few posts back), just sitting in the shed in my backyard. I've listed it on craigslist a couple times and not gotten any hits so I figured I'd keep it for now. If anyone local were to be interested it could be for sale again.
