Global Time Attack 2018 Discussion
#104
Track was just slightly faster, I drove a little bit better and we have less aero drag. Still plenty of downforce though.
Looking at data compared to last year, we saw a huge increase in drag. A lot more than I expected. So we removed the dive planes off the splitter and the third element off the wing. That helped. Ghetto fix on the catch can worked so we can stay out the whole session. Yesterday I only got two hot laps. Did the 1:44.841 on my 4th hot lap of the weekend. That's time attack. You sometimes only get a few one lap shots at it.
One more adjustment to the handling balance, a bit more data coaching from Sonny, Dan and Andrew. Two more sessions to try for that 1:43 the car should has in it, according to the data.

Raised the rear ride height 2 full rotations on the collars and went full stiff on the sway bar. Finally started to get the load mid-speed Mechanical group balance we've been looking for but the tires are starting to fall off now. 7cycles on the A7's. Went a few tenths slower than it did this morning. Some mistakes on that lap, but other spots that I drove better. So the changes we made to improve the handling balance were balanced out by the front tires falling off.
Still an excess of rear grip so we will put on a fresh set of fronts to get that last bit of balance we seek. 2 more sessions. Come on Vegas, let's do this.

@Twibs415 If i'm guessing the name right did the car not hit 1:52 in the first session?
GroupD C (commentator cannot count) are out but the commentator just said Emilio is out and a miata is pestering an Evo. That certainly sounds like Emilio Two entries?
Group be doesn't have Sonny in it now and does have a red miata who is that?

Commentator trying to say Emilio's surname was a treat for the ear. Numpty
Emilio set 1:46.749 on his last lap no less chasing camnam or namcam car (whatever way round it is the commentator has said it so much ive blocked it out).
Ryan set 1:47.387 although came in early.
Bret in Group E repping the miata too. Is he on here?
I am SO excited seeing you guys genuinely most interesting than F1
