Default Finally got my car on track. Autobahn country club.

It was great to get back on track after a few years off and reconnect with old friends. I really considered it a shake down day so I was not super focused on lap times. The car ran pretty warm and I think heat soak was a big issue. the oil was getting pretty warm at about 265 so I obviously want to work on getting that down a bit. handling felt pretty good, no specific complaints except the steering feels really light at speed and I think the lack of feedback made me a little overly cautious at times.my brake bias was off so I had difficulty locking my fronts anytime I got on em hard. I have another day lined up in October so hopefully I can make some changes and get a good alignment.

The good news is my shifting improved due to installing the racing motor mounts. The stock mounts were very compressed and worn so I'm glad I spent the money to get something a little more rigid. The 949 suspension felt pretty good but I need to spend sometime playing with the settings. honestly I was just happy to be back on track so I never came in mid session to make changes. That was my biggest mistake.

I used Harrys lap timer to get 14 total lap times, but only a few clean laps. I'm not really sure what happened but apparently the app was not set for much of the day. my best was a 2:50.54 with a virtual best of 2:50:30 so i guess the narrow margin is pretty good. my average speed was 75.9 mph with a top speed of 105.1mph. I dont think the car makes much power, especially when it is hot because the spec miatas top speed is a bit over 100 mph on this track. I really don't have much data, so if anyone drives autobahn speak up.

I've ran north and south. Never got clean laps in on south since it was a gridlife event last year. But north I've ran a few times i think my best is a 1:15 or a 1:14. My friend in 600whp mkiv supra runs 1:16 on north. lol North is such a fun tight track perfect for low power/ spec miata.

You have any videos or pics? You run Gingerman yet?

I do not have any recient video or vids of gingerman but I've driven it many times. no times off hand, never been a big video guy, but years ago I did a few runs with the family camcorder on a few tracks, but I only have a link to a lap at Autobahn messing around with a buddy of mine so it is not really a fast lap but kinda entertaining by 2005 standards, but boring as hell now. lotus and my Audi A4 + mods. below is the link if you care to view easy 10 years old.
