Default CSP Limited Slip Differential choice

The autocross season is just finishing here in the great frozen north of upstate NY. My car is a 90 with a 2003 engine. Currently installed is a 94 differential housing with matching driveshaft and axles along with an RX7 clutch type LSD that feels a little weak. I also have, already on the shelf, a like new Type I torsen. I will be installing a 4.30 gear set so my diff housing will already be apart. My question is, should I rebuild the clutch type LSD or install the torsen? I know about the OS Giken but my short term plan will be to use one of the differentials that I already own. The car is dedicated for autocross use.

Rx7 differentials suck. Install the Torsen if you must, but get an OS Giken into the car as soon as you can. It makes a huge difference.

FWIW this year’s national champion car in CSP and CSPL was using a stock Torsen. I still think I prefer the OS Giken though. The RX7 diffs I have driven were not near as smooth and predictable.

Bob pretty much nailed it. I just helped adjust the sister car OS Geiken. Wasn't to difficult, hopefully the adjustment will get rid of the on throttle push issue. I like the torsen, as long as your setup keeps both rear wheels on the ground always its not a massive step down from a factory setup geiken. No comment on the RX7 diff.

Until someone beats Scott Fraiser(CSP National Champion) with a OSG....I would say save your money, use the torsen and spend the $1,600 on driving the car.
