Turbo rebuilt, and now another problem...
So I installed the rebuilt tdo4 today, took it for a drive, and right when I pulled into the driveway.........smoke.
Looked underneath the car and I noticed OIL leaking from between the cat and downpipe flanges. WTF Chuck. The only thing I can think of now is that oil is being backed up and leaking into the exhaust. Correct assumption? After looking at my oil return situation, I'm not happy that the Greddy flange is pointed towards the driver's fender and has to do a 180 back to the engine to drain. Does anyone make a drain flange that is straight instead of cocked to one side??

Problem solved.
I clocked the turbo so that the flange pointed down more, chopped off about an inch of the snout, made sure there was no up-hill in the return, and went for a nice long ride. I was worried at first because the smoke wouldn't go away and the turbo was lagging a bit, but once I drove it for a few more miles, everything cleared up, power came back, and I'm happier then Micheal Jackson at Disneyland!
