If you have no major damage then yes. But if you fraged a piston this site sells a full rebuild for 300 some odd $ http://www.rpmmachine.com/engine-reb...ts-mazda.shtml check them out. If you pull the motor and have this stuff then it would probably take another day or so to install all this new stuff.

Neon a bottle brush hone is not a bore out it is just a rescape of the bores it is dead simple i dunno. I think even a FM fan boy could run one with little to no supervision. Engine boring i agree on the other hand is most def something to be done in a machine shop with tools and experienced peeps.

Mine was pretty smooth despite the failure i was actualy quite surprised. Of course i don't recomend he try to bore it out with a hone but if there is little to no damage then the hone is a good idea. I am mostly sugesting that it is not as bad as some people make it out to be when you take a engine apart.

ok so i guess ill check out the junk yard and ill pull my head off and see what it looks like. heres another question. if the cylinder has no major scores and i dont see any wedged rings like in that picture then i should be fine just replacing the rings? or would you suggest replacing the pistons also? im looking for the cheapest route so i can get it running again. then once i get this job ill be rebuilding it completely.
