This time I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. Tomorrow I plan on getting all the fuel related **** done. I was happy to finally mount the coolant overflow, now its off my mind. I also spent about 1 hour fooling with the EQ on the stereo. Now I just need to decide and buy a BOV tonight!

More tomorrow.

Not like I'm in a mechanic shop being paid to work on other peoples cars. Its my ride and my time, so I'm taking it easy and keeping myself relaxed. I highly doubt I would have got this far without the bud. Its not like I'm smokin to the point of retardation......its all in moderation. Thanks for the good luck though

On a side note my buddy just signed up here and sent me a PM about his miata. He's the dude that let me drive his miata years ago when we both worked at petco and thats where I learned to drive stick. We've been out of touch for awhile but he told me he's got a FMII in his now. I'm gonna recommend to him that he makes a intro thread and says what up to everyone.

Hey all - I'm the friend Joe's talking about. I remember going with him to pick up the car - I drove it back on a snow-covered highway from Vermont (I think?) in the dead of winter. Probably won't be too active on the forums - medical school owns me. But yeah - put a FMII kit in a couple months ago. Wish I did I did it years ago - the car it so much more fun to drive now.

I was at the shop yesterday for the night and got some more work done. I took out the fitting in the oil pan and I JB welded the threads right into the pan, then did a circle around the outside.....done. I also got the fuel rail ready to drop into place, complete with all the fittings on and the lines routed. The TDR radiator cover that I got as a gift is in and help clean things up some more. And I started working on the inside again. I really love the new suede shift boot I got. The vinyl was beat and a leather boot seemed like it would be better in a lexus console.

I just got a call that I need to go strip some forms before the rain caves the banks in around them.....so that will delay me for a couple hours this morning. I'm hoping I can turn the key today, if not today then tomorrow.

Thanks bro. Well, once its running I'll drive it 100ft into the bodyshop and let him do his thing. Then its just putting the new top on, finding a hardtop, and new wheels and tires. Then I'm calling it quits for a little while.....I hope.

Sucks though.....I had the laptop hooked up ready to start it tonight and hit a snag. The fittings I got at the auto supply store are leaking pretty bad. I can't be upset I guess, I knew they seemed loose'ish, but if I had tightened them anymore, I would have lost the angle I needed. Well anyways, I'm gonna take care of all that tomorrow and hopefully get it to run.

I just hope the MSPNP is ready to roll. I'm gonna use their base map to start it up, and I guess I'll have to learn how to tune off that. But the base map is all I have.....so I'm hoping its enough to idle and run the car out of boost.

you'll be fine with the base map. Plus there are several maps floating around here that are close to your setup. The more you fiddle with the MS the easier it gets.

Cool, thanks man. I really just need to start the car and make sure I have no leaks and everything is functioning. That way I could get it to the bodyshop without him bitching about it not running.

When you say maps floating around similar to mine, do you mean on the forum already, or someone floating around might have one? I ask only cause I have looked around a bit for maps and came up with jack dick....besides the base one from MSPNP's website.

All I have to do today is figure out this fuel issue and then I have the rest of the weekend to play with MS and tune my stereo. I was playing around in MS looking at all the drop down menus and it seems like it has alot more options than my emanage ever dreamed of having.

THE CAR STARTED!!

So today I finished up some wiring stuff, re-did the fuel lines and re-installed the rail and injectors. Triple checked everything and turned the key. Car started right up, my only leak is the coolant overflow, which is no big deal for the time being.

I was nervous at first when I turned the key and it wouldn't start, but then come to find out I still had the igniter plug off. The car idled a bit off at first while I was doing the whole 10deg - setting the timing to 10BTDC - to then -10 deg again. Then I did the fuel injector deal and changed them to 460cc/min for 12.7, got something like 6.7 per cylinder I believe.

My problem now is with getting any further. I unhooked the stock O2 sensor and wrapped it up and out of the way. Then I wired in the LC-1 to the MSPNP, but I was having a hard time deciding what was the correct voltage to put through. In any case.....I'm just stoked that the car started and I could let it run for awhile.

So now I'm curious. Is there anyone on here with any maps that could help me out? Would a setup consisting of at least 460cc/min injectors and a T28 fix my A/F for the most part. Anything that could help, please send me a PM. I am sooo close to making it into the bodyshop Monday. I just don't wanna hand over my car untuned though.

Thanks guys! I am hoping for this car to be a all around perfect car for me. Power wise, handling, audio/video, interior/exterior look wise, etc. Its been a lonngg road to get this far, but I am getting close to the finished product. I plan on taking the car to the track in the spring to really test it out, but this winter I just want to try and enjoy it as a daily driver. Last night I chilled out and watched about 30 mins of transformers on the DVD player and it sounded better than what I have in my house!

Thanks for the heads up to the useful saved post section bro! You know, I've seen that section, but never poked around much in there. LOTS of useful info for sure. I got Al's 11psi map and I saw that Brain was saying it was pretty good for his 460's with some minor tweaking. I'm pretty excited to get to the shop and see what it does for me.

I'm gonna try and get my interior back together today, at least as much as I can without going too far. My worry is that when the new top goes in, some of the rear parcel stuff will have to be taken out again. I'm still undecided whether or not I will be doing the top install myself.

Anyways, I'm on my way to the shop. Hopefully with this map and my half brain I can figure something out!

I'm down at the shop ******* with the MS and christ I feel like a idiot. lol

I tried Al's map, and the car didn't like it much. I fooled with the 90-93 base map a bit and got it to idle like a baby, but I cant take it out for a spin cause the car is still half apart and its raining pretty good.

At one point there was a huge heap of carbon behind the tailpipes. I took out the plugs and all 4 were fouled beyond cleaning. I had some new plugs so I put them in. I also pulled the LC-1 and did the calibration from scratch again. Its reading 12ish at idle on the LC-1 gauge, but MS is telling me 10ish. I think I might have to fool with the grounds to fix this, I remember reading about that before.

So now I really don't know what more I can do. I think I'm gonna give it to my bodyshop guy Monday as is, and while he's working on it, I can try and fine a place that can tune it for me. I really wanted to do everything myself, but I fear raping everything I just did to get this far.

Its too bad there is nowhere to get pre-made maps that are set for FI'd guys already. Kinda like the Subaru deal with that **** they plug in and can download pre-made maps for their basic setup. I don't know.....I'm just disappointed I guess.

MS is very frustrating at first trust me! But once you get the hang of it, It rules your life lol. But as long as you don't hit boost with a bad MS map then you shouldn't do to much damage. I've done everything wrong with MS that's possible when I first got it and my engine still runs perfect. Just don't rush learning it it'll come with time and reading
