Default Advice for a newly purchased Flyin' miata turbo set up! MORE DETAILS IN POST

Heyo yall! 21 year old kid with a 99 nb1 miata here. Just made a pretty hefty purchase on the FM turbo setup and here are the specs of what I bought. I had a friend who loves building cars, (UTI graduate, got an STI pushing tons of power and boost, just sayin I am not alone on this daunting task!) pretty much sit behind me and help pick out some parts that I was not quite sure on:

Manifold
1 x 1.8 Flyin' Miata turbo manifold (Inconel hardware, Stage 8 fasteners)

Turbo outlet
1 x NA/NB turbine outlet (downpipe upper section)

Downpipe
1 x NB Flyin' Miata turbo downpipe (lower section, 2.5")

Turbocharger
1 x GT2560R turbocharger $1,196.00

Intercooler
1 x Intercooler w/ hardware, 1999-2005

Hoses
1 x Piping, clamps and intake kit, NB turbo

Blow-off / bypass valve options
1 x Vent-to-atmosphere blow-off valve kit (2554 or 2560 turbo)

Timing wheel
1 x 36-2 tooth timing wheel - for stock pulley $29.99

Water supply
1 x Turbo connection kit for FM coolant reroute (Garrett turbos)

Banjo fittings (required for FM reroute connection kit)
2 x Banjo fitting for turbo water supply $10.79

Oil supply
1 x Turbo oil supply kit for 1996-05 blocks (bag 4B) $70.00

Oil drain
1 x High temperature rubber oil drain (bag 5A)

Tools
1 x Drill and tap for 3/8 NPT $19.00

Misc parts (necessary for nearly all installs)
1 x Misc. parts for custom spec turbo kit (Bag 8A)

Gauge pod (pay attention to the year ranges!)
1 x 1999-02 dual gauge pod

Boost gauge
1 x 2 1/16" 20 psi Flyin' Miata boost gauge (silver face) SILVER

Air box
1 x Air box for turbo kit, NB chassis

EGR (2001-05 cars need the 1999 EGR pipe)
1 x 1999-00 stock EGR pipe $65.00

SOOOO with all that, I have an '01 engine I will be rebuilding on an engine stand, gaskets rear main seal and the whole thang. The hope will to one day, swap the built and turbo'd engine with the current stock one! I am aiming to build the engine and putting forged rods and pistons in, (wiseco and manely most likely) headstuds aswell but not sure about them or not, also going flex fuel, picking up second hand MSPNP 2, maybe the happy meal clutch/flywheel combo from FM, thinking 650 cc forceflow injectors but not quite sure, got a nice mishimoto aluminum radiator, catch can from moss miata, other wise pretty in the dark and would be looking for some other recommendations for more add ons or necessities for the turbo installation! Thanks guys! Any information, advice on anything above or anything at all greatly appreciated! EDIT: Also, the crank is getting resurfaced and the cylinders bored out as we speak at a machine shop!

You need a clutch, exhaust, wideband O2 sensor, some way to control boost, and injectors 850cc or more.

If you're getting this involved, you should at least be looking at MS3 basic.

Hey Huntman. It looks like you're off to good start. One word of advice. Overbuild for your planned goals. For, example, if you plan on building for 250hp it would be wise to have parts to support maybe 300 or more. Boost is addictive and you will likely quickly get bored with initial planned goals. Best to spend once on more headroom rather than having to re-do setup a second or third time.
Also I would spend a little on getting a dragy. That is what I now consider an invaluable tuning tool. You can have it dynoed if available to you or vitual dyno for tuning as well. However the dragy lets you tune for best average area under the curve under real world conditions with your setup. It also helps you tune other variables in the setup of the car to put power down, as well as best shift point. I seen a number of fellows put down decent numbers on dynos' or virtual dyno and take the car to a dragstrip and get heartbroken. With street tuning using a dragy first that will be much less likely should you decide to actually put to best use whatever power you have available. Have fun and good luck on your project!

I have the FMII kit on my NB. It started running a lot better when I upgraded the fuel pump and added an adjustable fuel regulator.
