Default rpm not synced

Hello everyone. I recently replaced my dash harness, and main relay in my 92' with an MS2PNP and am now having a crank no start issue with the rpms not being synced in tunerstudio. I saw most posts having this issue were suggested to perform a composite log but when I do that, waiting until 6 pages are created, nothing is logged. Not really sure where to go from here. Thanks for any help.

I'm assuming if you're capturing a composite log, you're connected, so the MS is powered and grounded. Check for power at the CAS, on the white/red wire, and if it's present, check for continuity on the white wire to 2E, and yellow/blue to 2G. Finally the black/green wire should have continuity to ground.

If all those check out, you either have a bad CAS or you're not doing the composite log correctly.

Hey curly, thanks for the help as always.

Power was present along with all continuity. I don’t think I could be messing up the composite log but just to confirm before I go buy another CAS. You open the logger tab and select where you want to save the log, then click start and crank for 20+ seconds/until there are 5 pages?

That is correct, yes. Where are you located? Maybe someone near you could spare a CAS for testing. I'm generally unconvinced when people say they're bad.

From SoCal, have a few buddies who might be able to help me out. I did buy this one used from ebay, I can’t remember why I didn’t use my original one when I did my rebuild. Will give swapping it out a shot.

So didn’t even get a chance to test CAS as the new fuel pump relay I installed clicks repeatedly when I turn the key to Run and I don’t hear the fuel pump prime.

Edit: jumping the ground > f/p in the diag box with the new relay in primes the fuel pump and the relay doesn’t click when key is in Run. I just don’t know what that means

GND-FP triggers the relay same as MS should do. So either MS is defective, or it’s not being powered properly. There is also a setting that disables fuel pump priming, forget which. I think when prime enrichment is set to zero? It says it in the little “?” Box.

I haven’t changed any of the settings when the inital crank no start issue started happening so I don’t believe it’s that. I also can connect to the ecu when the key is on and most information is reported to the ecu correctly like afr and other things (except for rpm sync.) So I guess there is something wrong with it? Is that concurrent with it not being able to read composite logs suddenly after the initial die-while-idling that made me replace the main relay? I guess I will contact support and see what they say.

Well to not leave any open threads here, my firmware on my MS2 was a little messed up according to DIAutotune from the new hardness, but also my timing belt broke… Only noticed when I went to put my CAS back on lol. Problem solved.
