Default MSPNP1 - aftermarket EBC & tuning

Hi all

I have a question to ask regarding EBC setup and MS tuning.

My car setup:
89 NA6
BEGI turbo kit (gt2554 I believe)
ECU: a white MSPNP1
Currently running a manual bleed valve which peaks at 12psi boost
*We purchased the car setup with this configuration*

I have a Blitz dual SBC EBC that I would like to install however I have one hesitation that I would like answered as I think I may kill the engine!

Obviously if a EBC is installed the turbo boost characteristics are likely to change compared to a bleed valve. e.g. the boost may build at a different rpm point and at a faster rate (by adjusting gain settings etc).

My question is... Considering the current tune can handle 12psi, if I install this EBC and make sure I don;t exceed 12psi will the MSPNP be able to adjust to accommodate the different boost behavior?

I am unsure if the ECU can adapt and adjust by using the tables or if the tune is only good for the exact current setup that I have.

I am hoping someone can give me some advice on this?

Thank you!

why do you care about 12psi so much?

and why do you not know how to tune?

12psi? I think you need to read the question again to understand why I mention 12psi.

Sorry I didn't know I need to be an engine tuner in order to post a question :/

you should be one if you're going to run an aftermarket ECU and then make changes to your setup.

if your turbo spools faster with the EBC, and you've never tuned those fuel cells it's now hitting, then you'll have to tune them now if they go rich/lean.

the tune is only as good as it's been tuned.

Thank you. That makes sense I just wasn't 100% sure.
We are taking it to a dyno soon and I didn't know if I could install it before hand, but now I'll wait and let them do it.
