Default MSPnP VTPS mod without attaching VTPS

Is there anything wrong with modding the MSPnP for the variable throttle position sensor without actually attaching the the VTPS? How about if the stock non-variable TPS is attached?

I'm working on the Wells mod, but may not finish in time for a road trip and would like to do the soldering at home with my soldering station, rather than drag it with me.

so long as the stock TPS is connected, no. You may find the TP% is constantly increasing over time...so make sure to disable anything TPS based.

When I had the vtps mod but a flaky vtps, I had to raise the calibration values to something like 454min/455max to avoid the effects of the drifting signal with the vtps unplugged. This was on a DIYPNP.

Ooo, good question. I'd wondered the same and was a bit embarrassed to make a thread about it.

If I can mod my MSPNP for a Honda VTPS and drive on the non-variable stock TPS for a bit, that'd be swell. Would make it easier to get back/back dynos of the Hondafold too.

It should be fine, so long as you unplug your stock TPS. If you don't unplug your stock TPS the car won't start.

So with modded MS and stock non-variable TPS, simply unplug and enjoy. Sounds good to me!

Thanks again Ben.
