MSPNP v1.1 - 96-97 Basemap Okay for 1999 NB Motor?
Hi everyone,
I just got finished swapping in the following setup into my 1997 NA:
-99 NB Motor
-BP5A Camshaft
-EUDM Squaretop Manifold
-Hondata IM gasket
-Racing Beat 4-1 Headers
-Monsterflow Intake
Although rough at idle, the car currently runs and drives using the stock ECU. However, the tuner around the area agreed to tune my MSPNP v1.1 if I'm able to get the car running on the MSPNP well enough to get it to the shop. I don't know much about tuning, but I did find a basemap off the DIYAutoTune website for a 96'-97' miata. If I were to install that onto my MSPNP, would that basemap work well enough to idle and run my current setup? If not, is there anyone here with a similar setup that would be willing to send me their basemap?
Thanks in advance everyone,
Kris

So I went ahead and installed the 96-97 basemap through megatune, and the car starts up. Thats about as good as it gets though - idle is extremely rough and fluctuating, and immediately shudders and dies if I try to get the car moving.
Would anyone have a basemap that would work better for my setup? Its listed on the OP. The car runs much better with the stock 97 ECU.

So being the complete noob that I am, I realized that I forgot to run a vacuum line to the built in MAP sensor on the MSPNP.. could that explain the issue?
Also, I'm a bit confused at this point in regards to which tuning software to use. Does MSPNP v1 utilize MegaTune or Tunerstudio?
Also, how do I find the latest firmware for the MSPNP? I noticed that the latest firmware revision for MS1/MSextra was 029y4a, but I'm not sure if my MSPNP falls under that category or not.
My apologies if these are questions with completely obvious answers. I've learned to wrench on the car but don't know the first thing about tuning.
