A few question about Launch Control
Hello Everyone.
I got a few questions about launch control. I just activated launch control in MSPnP. I did it with a separate button no the clutch switch because i have a clutch switch bypass.
I did not change any values and left them default. I just changed the fuel cut to spark cut. I just think it sound cooler. I should say i dont have a cat.
So my question is very generic, how bad it is for the engine/ turbo to use launch control? I will not use it for launching at the moment (kind of defeats the purpose of having LC) because i have a stock rear end and it will blow up soon even without LC. So i really just wanted to have LC so i can tell people i have a miata with LC and be able to prove it.
I just reread what i wrote and i totally sound like a worthless , which in general is true.

I am currently in the same boat with the rear end, but I have a question.
If you have the clutch switch bypass doesn't that make it where you can start without depressing the clutch and not effect the second clutch switch, the one you would use for launch control?
As for the LC with spark cut damaging anything.... be careful of your muffler I kinda blew mine open and now have straight pipes.

Bump. I want to know what settings can be harmful. I want to set this up but I dont trust myself with tuning yet. I'm putting in a remote button also because (correct me if i'm wrong) it will interfere with revmatching for downshifting. I figure it could help a little in autocross.

ok. i'm looking at the launch control menu. everything is set to 0 except "Retard to: (Deg)" = -10 which i'm not allowed to change cus i cant click in the box. "Enable Launch when TPS above (Raw" and "Launch Control Hard Rev Limit (rpm)" are the only boxes i can change numbers in. not sure what to put for the first but second is whatever rpm to lauch at. also, when choosing limmiter type, i think it was hustler and braineack told me spark and fuel cut was best so i'll go with that but what does "Cut 'n' sparks out of BASE NUMBER" mean?

heh.
-Have fun with LC and no clutch switch. You want it to turn OFF when you let the clutch out. Your clutch bypass won't affect it at all - it uses the other clutch switch, the one that turns your cruise control off when you step on the clutch a little.
-Spark-only is a great way to burn up turbos. Unless you're on 10.5" slicks and can actually use 13psi off the line, don't be a ricer and leave the fuel cut on. I made 4psi on spark/fuel cut and it would just cook the tires anyway.
-First, you'll break your rear end with LC. Then, you'll break your 5-speed with FFS. Just so you know. FFS is a dirty amount of fun, though.
