DIYAUTOTUNE basemap???
Hey so my first post here, i had just spent the better part of 3 months going over my 04 MSM freshening it up and preserving its time. Most mods were done pre my ownership so i luckily walked into a nice set up with an FM Little Enchilada and FM catted (emissions jargen) DP and exhaust.
During my spring cleanup of the car i decided with the hours and hours i put into making sure the body/frame is 100% rust free i treated myself to the next step in power, EBC, Wideband, Perfecttuning gauge, MAF delete, 15x8s some sticky tires, 780cc injectors on the way and of course a MS3PRO PNP from DIYautotune.
Everything besides the injectors ive installed on the car, everything working correctly to the best of my knowledge.
Now the tuning, i have never tuned before nor had i even saw tuning software prior to this megasquirt purchase, i do however learn fast and am somewhat knowledgeable of basic automotive mechanics and electronics/increasing daily with much reading.
Car started not a problem, base timing set, sensors calibrated, idle is a WIP and my stalling at stops was quickly resolved. All from the DIYautotune basemap as a starting point. I did not in anyway want to push the limits of the car until i fully understood more of the tables. However i had to have just a taste of power, and power it sure has compared to the stock ecu. my problem lies in the fact that i had pinging and comes at no surprise with the impatience.
As i have been reading to learn as much as i can about tuning, i came a crossed TurboKittys base maps. Comparing the MSM base map of turbokitty to that of DIYs the difference is quite striking, especially in the Injector timing table, and timing table. Looking at the DIYs tables in these areas it definitely does not seem right to me.
Im curious what you guys think ill include both the MSQs. below. does anyone have experience with either of these basemaps for an MSM? Sorry for the rant, consider it an introduction.
