Needs more fuel. A basemap is not something that will run your car solid, especially if it is not from a car exactly the same as yours. A basemap is something provided to start your car without too much trouble, have it idle "decently", ie not die after starting, or wildly oscillating, etc. From there you will have to pick it up and tune away. Start by adding 4-6 points in the VE cells where you idle.

Is there any reason the coolant based crank duty settings would dictate idle speed once the caris running? I was tweaking the crank duty cycle in order to smooth out my starts and now it wants to idle at 3k rpm.

I put the MSPNP back in last night since I'm going on a road trip today, and it's running fine again.

So I imported the VE table from my MSPNP and then drove around for a while while autotuning, and it's somewhat better, but still happening. You don't see anything out of sorts in my .msq and .msl from my previous post?

You need to remove LOTS of fuel from the map you previously posted. Misfiring like that when in boost at 9.5-10AFR is "normal" unless your ignition system is hotter than hell.

Ok, I'll give it a shot tomorrow. The map I posted is the one that came with the unit. I understand it's a base map that'll need tuning, but you had said you customized everyones maps, so I figured it would be somewhere in the ballpark.

I do customize everyone's map, but I didn't have any map to start off for a 94-95, so I had to aprox one for you.
Strictly speaking, I've never seen a map transfer from one car to the other flawlessly. Each car is different, even the ones that have the very same kits installed. Injectors, fuel pumps, wiring, these are all things that are NOT behaving the same on different cars and over time.

Hi guys....my first post and...what I have to do to buy an MS2 for a '00 NB? :-)
#251
Anybody? I have to change this setting to get the car to idle below 3krpm.

That's the initial value the idle valve is open at during and after cranking.
There should be a setting for "PID delay" that tells the MS to wait this long before the PID code kicks in.
So you need to lower your cranking idle duty table a little, to keep the RPMs more around 1200 or so, then maybe lower the PID delay so the closed loop idle kicks in faster and starts controlling the RPMs.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong then.
Setting my target idle speed seems to have little to no effect on the IAC valve. The valve duty cycle will sit happily in the 90s even though the rpm is 1,000 rpm over what I have specified.
The coolant based crank duty settings definitely effect my idle speed, well after the engine is at operating temperature (and assuredly no longer in a cranking state).
Is there a good walkthrough anywhere online wiill help me figure this out? I'm coming from Adaptronic, which is a completely different animal with regards to idle settings.
Thanks

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I am considering a DIYPNP for my Danish '99 10AE with p/s, no a/c. I'm planning on adding the Toyota COPs at the same time. There might even be a Rotrex at some point in the future
